What I bought ….5 Pieces For Effortless Fall Fashion

Does shopping make you nervous? Do you see all those huge September issues of magazines and get overwhelmed? Do you think to yourself “How the hell am I supposed to interpret that ‘Look’ into my wardrobe”? Well, have no fear as I have made Fall Fashion into a science.

Fall always is a season of renewal to me. I remember being a little girl and getting super excited to put on my crisp, new, 1st day of school outfit after a long, hot summer in the south of Greece. I loved getting that super thick edition of Vogue and reading through it for hours. I guess that made me the girl I am today 🙂

Here is what I bought(really 🙂 ) to refresh my Fall wardrobe as well as some key tips on making the new trends wearable…

1) Sleek and Simple

This trend is all about minimalism, no fancy schmancy theatrical looks, and getting the basics right. Hope it is here to stay!

Now this is how I translate into reality…..

This look is very wearable with a heel or boot and looks great dressed up or down (I even wore this jumpsuit cuffed with sneakers!). Super comfy as well. For the transitional period, it can be worn with a leather jacket and for the colder months, I would wear a turtleneck or cardi on top.

My selfie came out horrible 🙂 but have a look here :
French Connection Summer Space Jumpsuit
Chloe Beckie Pumps
French Connection Jet Leather Jacket

2) Sporty Chic

And this is what I bought to translate this trend into my real life. I wear the sporty chic trouser with sneakers, pumps, and boots with a tshirt and denim or leather jacket.

French Connection Galaxy Trouser
Zara V-Neck Tshirt

3) Warm and Cozy

Cannot say enough how much I love this trend. Being obsessed with knitwear and fur, I am always looking for the easiest and warmest way to be cute and comfy all winter long. There is nothing more wearable than a plush sweater dress or a fur vest over a turtleneck and leggings!

My runway to real way:

Zara Fur Vest
Cable Knit Dress
Zara Creme Coat with Zips

4) Go Green

I love love green! My most favourite hues are Kelly and Olive Green, but so glad this colour is at the top of all style lists this season. Although I wish I could afford Balmain, this is my more affordable interpretation…and don’t be afraid to wear green from head to toe for a super chic look!

Malene Birger Valeriana Pullover
Zara Faux Leather Green Trouser
Zara Mao Collared Green Silk Blouse

5) Layering

Now I am always a bit intimidated by layering at the start, but I am slowly getting the hang of it! It is also a great way to mix up many of these trends at the same time.

This is how I would do a layered look with some of the pieces I have already mentioned:

French Connection Galaxy Trouser
Zara V-Neck Tshirt
Chloe Beckie Pumps
French Connection Jet Leather Jacket

or

Cable Knit Dress
Zara Creme Coat with Zips
Sergio Rossi Boot

So in closing, I say to Fall Fashion that I accept the challenge and I look forward to a renewed sense of spirit.

Lots of love,
Mimi
